Tom Antl is a film producer and director working in the United States. He has produced short films (Royal Flush - 2012), documentaries (ShayVision - Artist Shay Davis - 2009), corporate videos (Digitaria - 2011), and TV commercials (Buzztime Inc. World Series of Poker Contest - 2013). A graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, he chose to start his career in printing and publishing in San Francisco, CA.
He kept his interest in independent film making alive, and over time became a proficient self-taught film editor and camera operator. In 2007 he was offered a teaching job at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA where he created a class to teach students how to re-purpose print graphics and mixed media for use in a non-linear video editing environment. In 2013 inspired by his lifelong interest in film making and video production, he accepted a job offer to join the team at Groovy Like a Movie in San Diego, CA.
Recently he added slow motion cinematography to his tool belt as a Phantom camera operator using the Miro LC320S by Vision Research, capable of shooting at HD resolutions up to 3200 frame per second. His understanding of the technical aspects of digital film making means his projects are completed on time and within budget.
He is an expert in video compression techniques for web/mobile streaming using HTML 5 video, broadcasting live video online and is familiar with many leading content management systems for organizing, optimizing, and delivering digital video content.
