The Dead Ships are Christopher (drums) & Devlin (guitar/vocals).
They found each other during one of many excessive smoke breaks while toiling the grave-yard shifts of reality television in Los Angeles. Their Midwest (Chicago) and Southern (Alabama) roots brought together their shared love of rock, garage, blues, and pop.
Devlin grew up playing piano & writing songs and Christopher drummed in marching bands. Several late night jam sessions after first meeting, they knew they had found the sound they'd been looking for.
After playing with various formations, they realized a 2-piece best
suits their songs. The Dead Ships play stripped-down garage rock with an emphasis on pop hooks. They set themselves apart by connecting to their audience with extremely personal songwriting, catchy rhythms and outside the box playing styles.
The Dead Ships self-released an EP (Spring 2011) mixed by Donny Newenhouse at Center of the Mile and have plans to record their
follow-up vinyl EP for release in the Fall 2011.
