The First Annual North Fork Championship Whitewater Festival will be held June 8th and 9th on the North Fork of the Payette River. This World-Class event will showcase the world’s best big water paddlers, and will help launch kayaking into the highest level of extreme sports. The two days of competition will determine the festival’s highest honor, 2012’s King of the NFC. The first day, an open field of Expert paddlers will compete on the river’s lower section. The three top finishers will receive an invitation to the following day’s Elite Giant Slalom Course on Jacob’s Ladder, the river’s most impressive rapid, by far. These three Wild Cards will join thirty of the world’s most Elite paddlers in this race down Jake’s. At the weekend’s conclusion only one paddler will stand as King of the North Fork Championship.
