The mission of The ROOTS Project is to inspire individuals ("Seeders") to catalyze social change by challenging injustice and inequity when they arise in interactions, institutions and within themselves. Through experiential and testimony-based community building, participants develop empathy, resiliency in the face of obstacles and prejudice, self-reflection, cultural intelligence and critical thinking skills.
Our vision at ROOTS is for our Seeders to cultivate a stronger and more whole sense of self, to be true allies in creating a more equitable and inclusive society, and to begin to dismantle oppression at internal, interpersonal, and institutional levels.
At ROOTS, we believe that every individual has a story that is multidimensional, and when those complex and beautiful stories are shared and heard, people begin to heal. Individual healing is undeniably linked to the healing of our society and earth.
