Aimée Barry Broustra studied screenplay writing at Media Bistro, under D.B. Gilles, a faculty member of New York University, Tisch School of the Arts. She wrote the screenplay for the short film, Have You Seen My Wife? filmed in Westchester County, New York. Ms. Broustra also produced and worked as assistant director on this short film.
The Young Ancestors, produced, written and directed by Ms. Broustra, is her first documentary film. In addition, Ms. Broustra plans to produce and direct a feature film base don her screenplay, Bring Back That Day, about the estranged relationship between a Native American teenager and his non-native father.
Ms. Broustra studied at St. John's College, Santa Fe, New Mexico and graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. She pursued post-graduate studies at Sarah Lawrence College. Ms. Broustra moved from New York to Santa Fe with her French husband, two teenage children and their dogs.
