Tingerine Liu is a New York-based writer, director and cinematographer who is completing her MFA in film at Tisch NYU. Having grown up in China and Singapore, and studied in America and the Czech Republic, she has a unique perspective on culture and aesthetics that she hopes to explore and express through her work.
Her favorite quote is from Walt Whitman’s “Song of Myself”:
Do I contradict myself? Very well then, I contradict myself.
I am large, I contain multitudes.
Tingerine is a winner of the 2010 DGA Best Student Film Awards, and a recipient of the Ang Lee Scholarship.
