The TIWF (Tennessee Independent Wrestling Federation) was founded in 1988 by Randy and Darren Byrd. The organization was regionally successful running in areas towns like Brighton, Brownsville, Alamo, Toone, & Milan to name just a few. The TIWF even ventured to other states, running shows in towns like Commerce & Clayton Georgia.

The TIWF had a television show that aired on a regular basis from 1991-1992. Some of the supertars to walk the ailse in TIWF during those days were: "Primetime" Tim White,"Totally Biff"Trae Kellar, Texas Twister, Lawman Williams,Dirty Dog Cook, Mr. Big Stuff, Bobby "The Butcherman" Smith, Tank Turner, Skeletor, Crazy Stan, Loverboy Barry, Danny B. Goode, Babyface Jelks, Mr. Paradise, Pretty Boy James, Bill Dundee, Bull Pain, Freezer Thompson, Handsome Jimmy Valiant, & Psycho just to name a few.

In 1997 due to a dissolving partnership the TIWF finally called it quits and ended a good run at being an awesome regional promotion.

In 2004, A revitalized program with consolidation between the defunct New Breed Championship Wrestling promotion ( 1996-2002) and the TIWF once again brought the former federation to the forefront.

2004 saw a temporary merger between the DWF and the TIWF. DWF Talent such as Tim Edwards, Gunnar Thompson, Pretty Boy James, Loverboy Barry, Tommy Redneck and such took center stage alongside TIWF regulars like Lawman Williams, Wildside, Bobby The Butcherman, Jawbreaker Jesse Dee. The federation began to secure it's foothold back in it's former region.

In 2005, TIWF ventured into other new areas such as Trenton, Ripley, Jackson, Tn. and also added new and upcoming superstars like the Albino Rhino, Maxx Corbin, Steven Rampage, PK Ripper and many more. The 2005 version of the TIWF resecured it's place on tv by airing on local access CBTV Channel 2. This was also the year that saw the debut of TIWF TV personality Jon Seymour and TIWF announcer Hotrod.

In 2006, TIWF began running biweekly in many local towns such as Brownsville, Alamo, Ripley, Trenton, Jackson, Lexington to name just a few. The roster changed still seeing the emergence of superstars like PK Ripper, and the debuts of contenders like CA Antwone, Kaution, The Crime and many more. TIWF seemed poised to regain it's foothold on it's former region.

In 2007, the TIWF made it's jump from being a road show to having a weekly show in Jackson, Tn. at the True Force Arena and also made it's debut on E+ TV 6. The debut worldwide via the E+broadband system was the next piece to fall into place.
The TIWF expanded to an ownership group of three and Allen Walker of DCW fame joined the group for several months in a booker role during this time. Many new faces made their way to the TIWF during this time including: The Missouri Bad Boys, Chris Rocker, The Posse, Gravedigger, Big Boy Bob, Spyder, Overkill, Chico Mendoza and many many more.

2008 Gave TIWF a glimpse of the future. The TIWF has had many trials and tribulations over the past few years.
In 2008,TIWF has decided to relocate it's weekly show to the confines of the TIWF Showplex Arena in Trenton, Tn. to a warm welcome and new fans.
New faces such as Byron Wilcott, Simon Reed, Vic McNasty, AC Styles, Criss Braggs entered the ring this year.
TIWF in August of 2008 partnered with AIWF to become the AIWF Midsouth Affiliate. XOW Invaded and was sent packing. TIWF was unified.

Now we venture into 2009 with a solid affiliation with the AIWF and a new vision for the future. TIWF wants to excel in it's field and expanded marketing efforts will be key focus in 2009. New faces will come in 2009 just like in the past. TIWF will remember who matters most and that is our fans. TIWF is here to stay. TIWF is still the area's longest running promotion with the same CEO 20+ years!!

TIWF hasn't fogotten it's roots and is stil the area's only charity based promotion.
But, like any good federation before it, it cannot succeed without the support of the communities in which it is entertaining.
So, come on out and be a part of history in the past and history in the making.
