Tree of Knowledge

From the shamanic rites of the ancient Israelites through the modern Israeli rave scene, "Tree of Knowledge" is a documentary film project that explores the varieties of relationships between Jews and drugs.

Through interviews with Jewish clergy, educators, doctors, activists, artists and laypersons, "Tree of Knowledge" will shed light on Judaism's hidden shamanic tradition, drug use and abuse in the Jewish community, the legal and ethical responses to drug use within the Jewish tradition, and the role that Jews have played in advancing the causes of both psychedelic medical research and ethical drug policy reform in Israel and North America.

"Tree of Knowledge" is written, produced and directed by Daniel Sieradski, the founding publisher of Jewish megablog Jewschool.com, and a leading figure of the Jewish new media renaissance.
