Exit Art's in-residence Trickster Theater is a multinational, polyglot theatre company, creating new works for a global audience in New York City. Trickster Theater, founded in 1998, has a history of bilingual productions, tackling the issue of translation in dramatic arts and reflecting the multilingual community of the Americas. The goals of the Trickster Theater are to serve as a dramatic laboratory, to tell cross-cultural stories that reflect the diversity of New York City, and innovate the use of media to present theater outside of its physical location.

Trickster Theater imagines its space as safe ground for the actor and an incubator for innovating the design of theatre, infusing it with meaning and purpose. With the larger Broadway houses just blocks away, Trickster Theater asserts itself as an alternative to these cavernous spaces; our intimate, inclusive experience will focus on the actor, the text, and exploration of the medium.
