Director-Writer-Shooter-Editor Jane Simpson brings to the table a broad range of experience in all areas of production on a wide variety of film and video projects from features and TV to corporate, educational, docs and music videos. Drawing upon a background rich in art, animation, graphics and effects courtesy of UCLA Film School, Simpson formed her boutique production company, Triplane Film + Video, piloting spots, docs and promos for MATTEL,VISA, CBS, DISNEYLAND and more, while perfecting her storytelling skills by writing scripts and directing a few features and TV fiction. Triplane also has served as Simpson’s directing/editing services company on music videos for artists such as Chaka Khan, Concrete Blonde, Thelonious Monster, Patti LaBelle and Enrique Iglesias. Since 2001, Simpson and Triplane have been creating corporate, government, educational and entertainment projects, now as a certified SBE and WBE enterprise. Simpson’s expertise and extensive knowledge makes her a unique problem-solver, whether it's spending a year immersed in tsunamis and earthquakes for a TV series on natural disasters, or designing ways to convey a serious rail safety message for L.A. County Metro, or tracking the life and times of Brad Pitt, or documenting the small school experience around the country for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, or portraying the remarkable life of fossil hunter Harley Garbani for the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles.
