My wife Katie and I enjoy taking photos as we travel. We are relatively new to photography, so we're still learning. We like to put our shots together with music for sharing with friends and family.
We've been together for 16 years and are now in our early 30's. We've thus far managed to live our lives with a lot of freedom, avoiding getting caught in any traps that might rob us of the precious time to do what it is we feel most inspired to do.
In brief, after high school we spent six years traveling together, exploring much of Latin America, India, and North America. We lived simply and picked up work occasionally, saving as much as possible in as short a time as possible, to fund our way. We then went and got bachelor's degrees in the humanities from The University of British Columbia. After that we spent another year traveling, and then we spent two years in Japan teaching English to save up money for our next steps. Our guiding pull has been to explore what it means to live an awakened life, and so we've always been drawn to spend time with fellow travelers on life's road and seekers of truth. We've also been attracted to exploring more sustainable and rewarding lifestyles, so we've visited several intentional communities and eco-villages along the way. After our present 1-2 year trip through SE Asia we intend to explore options along those lines in British Columbia, Canada, our beautiful home province.
We always love making new friends interested in similar things, so if you'd like to learn more about us and/or contact us you can check out our photo journal at troyandkatie.info/journal/photos.html.
