The world of Montreal-based Motionographer / Illustrator, Mawt Trood shows a deep interest in the aesthetics of mid-century
graphic UPA animation designs, custom typography
and Garage-Afro Spacial culture.

Lately, he is working on a installation using Modul8 + Madmapper which will be part of a theater play for the National Art Center.

His illustration and typography work has been featured on records released by Bomp Records, Fat Possum and Dionysus Records. One of his most accomplished commissioned works is a 15-page illustrated colouring book included as part of a King Khan and BBQ Show 7".

One of his latest side project is an animation for the recent band from Roy Choyce (Les Sexareenos, CPCGangbangs)
Red Mass, for the song, Life Is A Cabaret. To animate this video, He's using Toon Boom Animate with greater flexibility to produce higher quality than if he would use Flash CS3.

A one-time student in animation and graphic design,
Mathieu cut his teeth in the creative industry, as
everything from a 2d animator, Graphic designer
and Illustrator for various on-line and off-line add campaigns.

His personal illustrations will soon be released as a book published in Brazil while a collection of vinyl-cut art mounted on rich stained wood boards will begin to be exhibited in galleries across Canada.
