Omni Medical Systems, founded in 1998, began as a small research and development company. In late 2002, Omni Medical began the development of the Advanced Mission Extender Device (AMXD). This product was developed as a device for military fighter pilots to relieve their bladders while on extended missions. Currently, the AMXD is being used by the U.S Air Force, Navy and Air National Guard pilots. In an effort to provide a non-invasive, external urinary collection system for the general incontinent population, Omni has reconfigured the AMXD technology, resulting in a lighter weight fully automatic system called URINCare®.
