Originally from Baltimore, MD, Mowgli started drawing at an early age without encouragement. Growing up, he was regularly exposed to graffiti, but never thought about pursuing a career in the arts. Then, determined to clean up the uninspired graffiti and tags that inundated the town of Blacksburg at Virginia Tech, Mowgli started doing street art over two years ago. He began by covering tags with other imagery, and then moved into asking businesses for their support to spray paint murals and paint street art. With the encouragement of his friends, he pursued the use of stencils and spray paint as his medium and became more proficient at his craft. He wants art to be for everyone and make people appreciate the buildings around them. After his first mural, Mowgli was able to witness firsthand reactions, which convinced him he was following the right path.
