Same lighting... The 5d2 with the f1.4 is absolutely insane compared to virtually any other video camera. I have both the HV30 and an XLH1, and it's not even fair to compare. I also have a 70-200 f2.8L, and a 15mm f2.8 fisheye. The f1.4 is practically able to shoot in the dark (not quite). You do need to keep your A1 for traditional type shooting, as the DSLR are tricky to use (manual everything, virtually impossible to handhold, audio is tricky).
