deep blue immerses its audience in powerful music, superb sound and artistic visual projections. deep blue combines the atmosphere of a club with the rich sound of an orchestra and the stage presence of a rock band.

deep Blue are the mavericks of orchestral music. There’s no conductor, no music stands and no stuffy outdated rules. They truly engage with their audience, smiling, dancing, and moving around the stage. They even adjusting their repertoire according to the SMS suggestions sent by the audience during the show! The performance is fun and exciting and is an enjoyable experience for the entire family.

The repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary, to evocative film music, and rock and pop classics. You might hear Mahler, Muse or the Stones side by side. Composers from all around the world are also writing music specifically for deep blue.

deep blue doesn’t just hit town, perform and leave. We actively engage with, and involve the local community through music and performance masterclasses and by inviting young string player to experience our approach to performance through ‘young blue’.

Young Blue is a string section from a local primary school invited to perform on stage during the show. This has proven to be an inspiring and entertaining experience for both the Young Blue performers and the audience.

deep blue has been developed by Darren Clark of Creative Media Warehouse, Andy Arthurs of the Queensland University of Technology and the performers themselves and is a constantly evolving, audience driven production.
