Founded by director-actor-writer Massimiliano Cividati later joined by actress-producer Raffaella Bonivento, AIA TAUMASTICA has been frequently reported as one of the most significant theatre emerging groups on the Italian artistic landscape.
Atypical for the Italian attitude, AIA TAUMASTICA remains independent and builds and looks for original production structures and ways to get its projects privately financed, although it also ventures into so-called risky productions in terms of number of actors playing or physical work involved, often engaging emerging talents who can act and dance and play instruments.
Be them “risky” or light, AIA TAUMASTICA always offers enjoyable emotional stories for a vast audience. In its pan there are classic plays (Tito Andronico, Waiting for Godot, Antonio e Cleopatra), as well as original written and produced drama (Nijinsky vs. Amleto, Calibania), that can satisfy a need for narrative storytelling (Ghiaccio-The Shackleton's way, Banvard-in development) or express its vocation for physical and European theatre with little or even no words (The Soft Transition, The Void).
AIA TAUMASTICA keeps a connection with the tradition, considering it the essential foundation for research.
In 2010 AIA TAUMASTICA was assigned a unique space in the green Cusano Milanino, in the surroundings of Milan - a former water tower in British neo-gothic style dated 1913, which it restored into a Theatre and Caffeteria (torredellacquedotto.it)
Theatre season - theatre production - readings - informal creation meetings - research - wine and food itineraries - seminars and workshops - books presentations- exhibitions - and activities for children.
The TORRE DELL'ACQUEDOTTO location is a place that - thanks to the intelligence and all the craftsmanship - collects the raw material, reworks it and the redistributes that to the territory.
