My name is Dan Lohmar. I am a pilot for United Airlines and a Financial Adviser for United Wealth Management, LLC, where we provide financial planning and investment management for United pilots.
Two years ago (Sep '10) I picked up a Canon Powershot SX20is while supporting my brother's T-6 race team at the Reno Air Races. Having never made a video prior to that, I took a few clips and compiled a decent iMovie-video of a day at the races. The video sparked my interest as a medium for advertising, but this interest soon became second to just producing cool videos.
My primary subject has been the local high school football team who became two-time state champs ('10 and '11). The feedback from parents, players and coaches fueled my interest and motivation to make each video better than the last.
I enjoy the creativity of videography and love recording memorable events for the people I know.
Along with improving my skills I have also upgraded my equipment and software:
Canon 60D, Canon 70-200 f2.8, Sigma 24-70 f2.8, Tokina 11-16 f2.8, GoPro Hero2, Steadicam Merlin, Manfrotto video monopod, and edit in Final Cut Pro X and Motion 5.
