Ripped from the nurturing bosom of his homeland of Warsaw, Poland due to the looming threat of the Soviet war machine, Zbigniew and his family sought refuge in Chicago in the early 1980's. The first film he ever saw was Scarface; he was completely captivated by it, not by its content as most youngsters would be, but by the technique and craft it demonstrated. Inspired, Zbigniew dedicated his life from that point forward to the study and creation of films that truly grip the imaginations of their spectators. He attended Columbia College Chicago to study directing, met the founding members of 3to1's film team through his filmmaking endeavors there, and the rest is history. In the field, Zbigniew -- or "Zig," for short -- is a highly visual director who has the confidence and fearlessness to make bold artistic decisions, and the natural ability to motivate and stimulate casts, crews, and audiences alike.
