Chris Castaldo serves as the Director of the Ministry of Gospel Renewal for the Billy Graham Center at Wheaton College. Originally from Long Island, New York, Chris was raised Catholic and for years worked full time in the Catholic Church alongside bishops and priests. Much of Chris’s work is concerned with helping Christians relate intelligently, graciously, and with gospel principle at the Catholic and Protestant intersection.
The Ministry of Gospel Renewal focuses on equipping evangelicals with the requisite knowledge and tools for constructive witness among the ninety-nine million partially-evangelized persons in America—those who possess a nominal connection to the church, but for whom the gospel is missing. Chris’s approach seeks to convey the delicate balance of grace and truth—genuine love for people with gospel conviction.
Chris is author of Holy Ground: Walking with Jesus as a Former Catholic (Zondervan, 2009) and a major contributor to Journey’s of Faith (Zondervan, 2012). He is currently pursuing a PhD at the London School of Theology which examines the doctrine of justification in the writing of Peter Martyr Vermigli and John Henry Newman. Chris, his wife, Angela, and their four children live near Chicago.
