The Unexpected Pit Bull was founded in 2004 when a small group of volunteers pooled their vision, resources and talents to produce the first edition of The Unexpected Pit Bull Calendar. Their mission was simple, to raise money for animal welfare organizations while showing the world what they already knew; That pit bull dogs are cherished family companions just like any other dog.
The Unexpected Pit Bull celebrates these wonderful dogs and gives them a positive visual voice. As the photographs and stories in our calendars prove, pit bull dogs are exceptional friends and companions. With the aid of dedicated volunteers and you, this project has been a hit year after year with each calendar edition improving upon the previous year's sales, reach, and impact. Today, The Unexpected Pit Bull remains steadfast in its commitment to rescue, education, and advocacy on behalf of pit bull dogs.
