1 month agoBryan Keith Nixon commented on Sunset on Isle of Palms - - a Canon 5D Mark II Home MovieHi Bobby... thanks! I've been quite busy though with the 5D2, but with less fun corporate talking head vids and the like. I am itching to put together another personal project soon, though! Regarding the good slomo... I think I was just responding to the fact that my slowed down frames still looked sharp due to maintaining the high shutter speeds. Before the last firmware upgrade, that required workarounds to achieve. Of course it's easy to do now. However, I didn't really interpolate any slow motion with software effects or anything like that. I simply conformed the 30P footage to 24P using Cinema Tools in FCP. It's a pretty standard trick. It slows things down just enough to give everything a more daydreamy feel without looking too slow. Admittedly, one motivation for doing that is that vids look better at 24P on vimeo!

I am an Associate Creative Director for Frederick Swanston, and ad agency in the Atlanta area. Like most agencies, we source out our photography, but occasionally shoot things in-house. When we do, I'm the guy. We have an upcoming small-budget corporate video project, so I talked the partners into purchasing the new Canon 5D Mark II. Imagine my surprise when they green-lighted it! We received our 5DM2 shortly after Christmas, and I've been obsessed with it ever since.
