Hailing from the out skirts of Manchester hard edged, sub pop, band The Vanguards, comprises of Thom Twemlow (guitar & vocals), Joey Jennings (bass), Richie Hearn (guitar) and Tom Bishop (drums), have been working in the studio producing tracks and playing round the UK in 2008, with their latest single ‘Regress’ being a hit with the local and student press and radio, The Vanguards are looking to 2009!

After growing up together jamming in different bands, which have taken them all over the world, the seed of The Vanguards was planted in early 2008 when the guys all swapped instruments to help Thom perform his solo album live.

Within months of forming, The Vanguards were recording in The Charlatans studio, Big Mushroom, with legendary production duo Dave Tolan and Jim Spencer at the helm. Famed for their work with great British bands such as Primal Scream, The Charlatans and Tears for Fears the production gurus have taken hold of The Vanguards and created a fresh new truly British alternative indie sound.

All the band members have extensive music careers, from starting in bands aged 7 to performing on the new bands stage at Glastonbury. With all of them studying music in some form, and Richie declaring their next band member will be a laptop, it won’t be long before we expect to hear Electro Dance Trance Hip Hop & Drum‘n’Bass remixes of The Vanguards!
