Steven Munar

The Language of the Birds is the second solo album of the former The Tea Servants singer and songwriter, Steven Munar, after last year’s release of his first Lp, Miracle Beach (MR01/2007) under the artist’s own label Miracle Records.
The musician has created a living and spontaneous record, this time accompanied by the Miracle Band, which has been recorded live to obtain a more human and authentic atmosphere. Having as a reference the recordings from the masters of the past decades, the record shows a real band playing songs with roots in folk, country and pop of all times and also with hints of blues and spirituals. Far from fashion and tendencies the lyrics reflect the search of the truth, true love, fatherly love and the disappearance of loved ones. The vocal parts have been specially looked after in this album thanks to the advice from the Majorcan musician Xisco Albéniz of La Búsqueda, who had already produced Steven Munar in his first Lp. Steven Munar performance, is calm and evocative in moments and warm and passionate in others. The Language of the Birds is a truly starting point in Munar’s way of singing. The album has been entirely recorded in Meteosat Studios (in Barcelona, Spain) by Marc Tena, loyal collaborator of the composer who also takes part as a musician and arranger.
