Melissa Skluzacek is a sculptor and musician living in Brooklyn, NY.

Melissa Skluzacek completed her MFA/MA studies at Purchase College in 2007. She received a BA from St.Olaf College in Minnesota. Skluzacek completed numerous commission works in Minneapolis prior to moving to New York. She is the recipient of a Jerome Foundation Grant and has had her work exhibited nationally. In 2007, she was in the juried group show “First Look II” at the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art. For this exhibit fifteen artists were selected from over 800 studio visits in the top MFA programs in the United States. Melissa Skluzacek’s sculptures and video address landscape and our place within it. This relationship is mediated by our physical experience within these spaces as delineated by our desire to control and comprehend the landscape.
