Scot McDonald Plus
Scot McDonald, president of Vancouver, BC based Full Frame Productions tells inspiring stories that need to be told. Stories that change the way people think. Stories that help non-profit organizations fight poverty and create lasting, positive change in the developing world.
Scot brings to this important work a unique combination of talents – the
technical videography, directorial and production expertise to hit the ground running; creative vision to tell engaging and effective stories; cultural sensitivity and patience to let real stories unfold with respect, dignity and compassion while never shirking from the tragic, often horrific, circumstances and lives of the people he encounters.
Scot began his career in 1984 working as a cameraman in the demanding, high pressure and fast-paced daily television news environment. After more than a decade honing his technical and creative skills in broadcast news Scot established Full Frame Productions to produce lifestyle, current affairs and documentary programming for broadcast as well as educational and corporate videos.
Following his first production for World Vision in Africa in 1996 a new door to an unexplored passion and career niche opened. By 2003 Scot narrowed his focus and quickly developed an expertise in this previously untapped market – as a full-service video production boutique exclusively servicing global non-profit aid agencies.
Internationally respected, and one of only a handful of creative producers worldwide specializing in this genre, Scot logs tens of thousands of air miles annually, filming on every continent. Among the many distinctions of excellence recognizing Scot’s work are the New York Film Festival - Silver World Medal, four-time Telly award winner for outstanding television production and the Houston International Film and Video Festival - Silver, Platinum and Special Jury awards.
