Nice approach. I guess this might have an impact (in the short run).

I just have to tell you that in my opinion the problem is not that politicians get blackmailed, but that the system is causing the problems. Politicians act in the will of their voters and not in the will of humankind. It is quite complicated and I don´t want to explain all here, but in my opinion a sustainable solution for the worlds problems lies in a global democracy that follows the principle of subsidiarity.

ps: In the end if we do not change the system it will force us to buy the cheapest products available. We will not have the choice.
