MISSION/PURPOSE
Committed to our Ensemble since 1985, American Blues Theater produces stories about working people and partners each production with social and service organizations.

ABT’s multi-generational and inter-disciplined artists comprise all aspects of theater, television, and film. ABT is the second-oldest Equity Ensemble theater in Chicago. Our 36-member Ensemble has over 418 combined years of collaboration on stage. As of 2012, we’ve received over 120 Joseph Jefferson Awards celebrating excellence in Chicago theater. We’ve also received honors from The Pulitzer Prizes, Academy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Emmy Awards, and numerous other accolades.
