The white screen without a prompt to install/update Flash seems to have been going on for a few months by now according to the commentators here. If this can't be fixed internally by Vimeo what Plan B options are there to get this message relayed…

Count me in this boat as well. Approx 8% of my web visitors have a version of Flash that is being described here as not supported. That's fine if it's not supported I understand entirely, however I'm unable to find a legible method to have a message…
