John Casey
I am: a professor at The Art Institute of Boston; presenting the animation and experimental videos of my students, with whom I have worked so closely, both delighting in and challenging their talents as filmmakers, artists, and animators.

I think of Animation as an art form that generates an expansive, opulent spread of creation: the cartoon surrealism of the Fleischer Brothers, the modernism of Oskar Fischinger and Len Lye, the poetry of Berthold Bartosch, Alexej Alexeieff, Caroline Leaf, Suzan Pitt and Hayao Miyazaki, the sort-of-post-modernism of Norman McLaren, and the anarchism of Daffy Duck. (Google Daffy if you've never heard of him.)
