PICASSO’S GOLDFINCH Written by Tom Jeffcote and Directed by Lawrie Cullen-Tait
“In the end there is only love. However it may be. And they should put out the eyes of painters as they do goldfinches in order that they can sing better.” -Picasso
This central question is explored through the confronting and explosive journey of Wilson Stryker, a once famous painter who has stopped painting and become a recluse in Picasso’s Goldfinch, opening at The Blue Room Theatre from 30 October 2012.
Challenged by Therese, a young and ambitious journalist who arrives unexpectedly, Wilson’s life is re-visited in a kaleidoscopic journey through Australia, New York and Spain.
Picasso’s Goldfinch is not a love story, but a story of love.
