Nick Bixby is an actor, artist, and film maker based in New York City. His performance career has spanned more than 14 years, and he has performed in theaters around the world. In addition to live performance, he works in both film and television, and also does commercial work.

In 2009, Nick began working with internationally renowned theater company Temporary Distortion. He joined their touring production of Welcome to Nowhere (Bullet Hole Road), which traveled to France and Hungary. In 2010, he filmed a feature length film based on the stage show, which is currently in the festival circuit. In 2011, Nick worked with Temporary Distortion again, to develop their new show Newyorkland. The show premiered to critical acclaim in Canada, at On the Boards in Seattle, and at NYC’s Baryshnikov Arts Center as a part of Performance Space 122′s COIL festival, in January 2012. In the New York Times review of the show, Jason Zinnoman wrote that “Nick Bixby is particularly affecting.” Newyorkland will have its European premier in March 2013 at the EXIT Festival in Paris, France.

Other highlights from Nick’s career include several starring roles and a range of commercial work. He starred in the film Jail City, which went on to win Best Film in the New York/Avignon Film Festival. He has done national commercial spots for McDonald’s and Dr. Pepper. He also co-starred in the stage productions Sleepwalkers and This is Our Youth along with rising star Oscar Issac. His latest starring role is in the feature film Offal and Weeds, which is currently in post production and is slated for a 2013 release.
