Alpine Search and Rescue Victoria (alpineSAR) is an experienced group of back-country skiers, mountaineers and bushwalkers skilled in search and rescue who are called out to look for lost persons in alpine and bush areas by Victoria Police as part of Bush Search and Rescue Victoria.
AlpineSAR is a volunteer community organisation that includes highly experienced women and men from a wide range of backgrounds, all of whom are extremely comfortable in travelling, living and searching in challenging alpine conditions. Alpine Search and Rescue Victoria has members who have travelled on foot to the North and South Poles, across the Greenland and Patagonian Icecaps, worked in Antarctica and at Everest Base Camp as expeditions doctors, professional paramedics, outdoor instructors/guides as well as volunteer ski patrollers.
Members train regularly a number of times a year, both on and off the snow. If you are a team player and are potentially interested in becoming a member and believe that you have the required skill, commitment and experience, then you can find out more at: alpineSAR.org.au
