    I exported each still video frame as a JPEG, then finessed and converted it to vector type with a secret little standalone program :[] Then, reimported into AE as a sequence for editing and colorization, etc.

    Thanks for the compliments! Re: some parts looking CG, I am interested in knowing which parts you think look that way. It was a concern at the beginning of the project, that some scenes would look "too polished" or "too CG." But we decided to go ahead and do what worked best to communicate the "5 senses" concept, and the tangibility and sensory joy of creativity. We hope that the fact that some parts look CG, but were actually produced with analog means, will make it more amazing and mysterious!
