Jon-Carlos Evans is a Berlin & New York City-based director, editor and cinematographer. He attended University City High School and went on to receive a B.A. in Film Production from Webster University. His senior thesis, "Salvation (Without You)" was awarded the Eastman Kodak Student Grant and screened in the 2006 St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase. After relocating to New York City in 2007, his films "Julya," "Smile" and "From New York" went on to screen as a part of the 32nd Asian-American International Film Festival in New York and the 2nd Edition of the International Streaming Festival for Audiovisual Art in the Netherlands. In 2009, Evans completed his MFA at the City College of New York in Media Arts Production. His final short film in the program, “Antithesis,” was honored by the 2010 Honolulu International Film Festival’s Aloha Accolade Award for Excellence and the Silver Palm Award at the 2010 Mexico International Film Festival.
Recently completed client projects include serving as Assistant Editor on the documentary feature abUSed: The Postville Raid and television projects for Sundance Channel, CBS, NBC, Bravo Network, New Rap Order Records et. al.
Evans is the founder of production company Perfect Entropy Productions, which has produced all of his award-winning films to date. In the winter of 2012, Evans will begin production of his feature film debut, “All Tomorrow’s Children.” Evans is also the founder and DJ/VJ of audiovisual performance collective ReVerse Bullets, a rotating lineup of filmmakers, visual artists and musicians.
