Melissa Joy Livermore deeply values connectedness and introspection. Much of her work, from the deconstruction of canvas--thread by thread, to the use of Twitter as a platform for performative action, lies at the intersection of the two ideas. Livermore attended a residency with Transform Creative in New York City, where she began to seriously pursue the deconstruction process mentioned above. If We Are Dust, a video created in collaboration with Amanda Knigga, was exhibited at The Harrison Center for the Arts in Indianapolis. Livermore will graduate from Ball State University with a BFA in 2015.
