The Fleischaker-Greene Scholars Program at Western Kentucky University School of Journalism & Broadcasting in Bowling Green, Ky., emphasizes service to the First Amendment. The program provides juniors and seniors the opportunity to take an advanced
special topics class once a year. This unique journalism class includes field trips, guest speakers, a First Amendment module, a gallery exhibit and the development of a Web presentation. Emphasis is placed on using First Amendment tools, such as open records laws.
