Global Roots is 501c3 non-profit organization registered in Washington State.

At Global Roots we believe that no battle, be it humanitarian or environmental, can be won without local support. It is therefore our mission to seek out and assist individuals who are already tackling a local cause with their own blood, sweat and tears.

The activists we currently support (including a Tibetan woman who has adopted over 250 needy kids in Eastern Tibet) have already found a way to operate. This means that our donations can go directly to the root of a cause -- not into the pockets of corrupt local officials or pricey NGO consultants.

We understand that many people are not in the position to make a donation nowadays. Donating money, however, is just one way to help. You can also make a tax-free "in-kind" donation of supplies or labor.

If you don’t do it for others...or for the planet...then do it for yourself. The act of giving is the only road to contentment.
