This installation explores our existence through the confinement of the human body and recognizes its ability to transcend its physical boundaries.
Born into a body, a house not of our choosing, we walk into this life according to culture, class, ethnicity, gender and belief systems. The figure becomes a sheltered place of memories and challenged interpretations as it carries traces of the environments it lives within.
The fragility of the form is resilient but none the less it is a vehicle that deteriorates into ruin. The tenuous beauty of the vessel invites the viewer to contemplate more than the skin-like surface offering a place for examination and quiet contemplation.
