Freelance November 07 - Present

I am currently freelancing, and I have been engaged in work ranging through channel ident direction, brand film direction, corporate film and title sequences. Recent clients have included Imagination [Art Director], Tilt [Senior Broadcast Design Director], Man v’s Machine [Designer / Director] and Turquoise [Broadcast designer].

As Senior Designer I have been involved in all aspects of the branding process from initial client contact and briefings, through brand strategy and full development of the pitch document. I conceptulaise, strategise, design, animate and direct, and fully enjoy being able to get hands on animating/compositing if circumstances allow or require it...

Freelance October 01 - April 05

I worked as a freelance designer with clients including Turquoise, ISO, 4Creative, Precursor, Kemistry and e&p. My roles occupied much of the creative spectrum from purely animating through to fully fledged channel branding and ident directing.

I was also repped by Lost in Space as a Director/Designer. I have undertaken diverse work including: ORANGE/Think Farm [corporate motion graphic sequences], Roni Size/Flynn [ultra fast virtual steady cam moves through 3d virtual locations], Chris Clarke/WARP [collaboration with Richard Fenwick] and ESPN [magazine illustrations]. Also I worked with Precursor on a short film [Quietus shown at onedotzero8].

As part of a round world trip [2002 - 2003] I worked at various firms in Sydney. This included a music promo and programme titles at zspace, and an award winning title sequence for Big Brother at Ambience Entertainment.


Static 2358 Ltd July 99 - October 01

Immediately after graduating I joined Static as part of their Broadcast design team. Initially I was working alongside the team on the development of ideas for the refresh branding of Channel 4. My role rapidly developed into becoming a vital part of the broadcast design team, which alongside ideas creation and development, involved supplying 3D animated graphics and footage to all other designers on the team. Whilst at Static I worked on a number of high profile channel rebrands and idents worldwide, these include: Channel 4, Adventure One, Studio Universal, Rapture TV and the Star TV Network where Bill Browning credited me for changing the face of 3D graphics in Asia! I was also involved in the production of filmed elements, in particular motion control shoots working on pre-vis sequences through to final renders. Working in a 3D environment has given me a good grasp of spatial composition, lighting and motion which has proved invaluble on set. I have also worked on several non TV projects, including 'Sector 15x' a digital film shown on the home GMI screen in Leicester Square and S.I.Futures music promo.
