I have a keen awareness of the human impact on the natural world and our rate of consumption and disposal. By repurposing objects that would otherwise be discarded, I attempt to suggest a different relationship to detritus. I seek to transform, revalue, and bring new attention to what many consider undesirable.
My depictions of nature are not merely a reflection of our natural surroundings, but a reminder of the importance of cherishing and protecting that which nourishes our bodies and our souls. This is what moves me. If through this process I can also bring a moment of insight to another person, then I have succeeded.
