A native of a French island in the South Pacific, Viviane Bauquet Farre has been an avid cook since the age of six, when she began preparing all her family's meals, perched atop a stool. After moving to the United States and enjoying a successful career as a fashion designer, Viviane turned her attention full-time to her greatest passion, food – cooking it, creating it, teaching it and sharing it with an ever-growing numbers of friends and fans.

Viviane’s creative work is now centered on her distinctive food blog, foodandstyle.com where she publishes beautiful and innovative recipes and photographs (often with accompanying videos) inspired by seasonal ingredients and local farmers. She has been written about — and contributed to — several regional publications, and her recipes have been featured in forums as diverse as bonappetit.com, Vegetarian Times, and saveur.com (which also crowned Viviane’s site one of the “Best of the Web”).
