Growing up with the classic Disney, WB, Rankin/Bass, I have always been crazy for stories. I started drawing at a young age. Always doodling in class and getting in trouble for it. I always wanted to be a comic book artist when I grew up and didnt consider animation until I watched "Toy story", I was hooked. Growing up in South America (small country called Suriname) I didn't have many opportunities to do anything creative education wise. All they offered were the "proper" jobs. At the age of 20 I moved to The Netherlands (where I was born) to find some way to use the drawing skills I had built up. I have worked as an Character Animator and Storyboard Artist in a small animation/concept studio in the Netherlands, but felt I needed some more training. So I took some time off (moved to Denmark, not related to the AM course I took) to take the online Animation Mentor course, which took 18 months. I graduated in Summer of 2008, but have been working part-time at a restaurant to pay the bills. In 2010 I felt it was time to get in to Animation again and make my mark in the industry. At the right moment it seems as I shortly after, landed a new job at a Animation Studio as a Character Animator/2d artist. It is a great time for Animation and I want to be a part of it! Its been 3 years now and time for some changes. I feel like I need to grow as an Animator so I am looking for new challenges and new experiences in my animation career.
