so, did you ever get the run-down on what this device is that's getting the data from the percussions? it's very cool. reminds me of 'drum triggers' that you connect to acoustic drums to interface with synthesizers and add digital effects to the acoustic sounds. this device here, though, is a lot simpler. it might be easier for me to understand how it works :-)
