The Prince Edward Island Advisory Council on the Status of Women is a government-appointed Council made up of nine women who work for equality and support women's full and active participation in social, legal, cultural, economic, and political spheres of life.

It is an arms-length provincial government agency that achieves its mandate through its unique relationship with both the government and the community.
