Andrew Spagrud
Andrew Spagrud is looking to begin his professional basketball career in the 2009-10 season. After an outstanding five-year career with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies (2003-2008), he chose to finish his Engineering degree this past year before turning pro. He graduated in December 2008 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Spagrud is one of the most decorated players in the history of Canadian basketball. He ranks amongst the all-time greats in the history of the Canada West Conference and Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS), and is the greatest Saskatchewan player in the 94-year history of the program. He is one of only nine players ever to earn All-Canadian honors four-times. He was also the National Freshman of the Year during his first season after high school.
He is the all-time leading scorer in the history of the CIS and Canada West Conference (2182 points in conference games only). He ranks second in Canada West history with 1039 rebounds and 221 steals (conference games only).
He is the all-time leader at Saskatchewan in numerous categories; scoring (3826 points), rebounding (1763), steals (400) and blocks (117). A holder of over 80 school records, he has been a model of consistency during his outstanding career.
