Lisa Kusanagi is a New York based Dance Expressionist (choreographer, dancer, conceptual artist, dance educator MFA)
She has performed as a freelance dance artist and with the company, Mark Haim Dance and Theater, both nationally (NY/The Joyce Theater, WA/Pacific Northwest Ballet & On the Boards, NC/American Dance Festival & Nasher Museum of Art, CA, VA, and ME/Bates Dance Festival) and internationally (France, Germany, and Japan).
She was featured in Park Bennett Films' and a Berlin based band, Brandt Brauer Frick's music video, "Plastic Like Your Mother", which was nominated for MuVi-Award 2013 at Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen.
In 2014, her original choreographed dance works have been selected into the Judson Church STUFFED (NY), the HATCH Presenting Series (NY), the Marginal Arts Festival (VA), and the Greensboro Dance Film Festival (NC).
Kusanagi is currently working towards her Master of Fine Arts in Dance at Hollins University, where she was nominated for a student fellowship. She is continuously investigating and creating conceptual virtuosity through physical artistry.
