Veronica is a passionate bilingual journalist who loves learning something new everyday. Her experience with Raycom Media has allowed her to sharpen her multi-media skills and become a great one-man band reporter.
She is a California girl who gravitated towards the East Coast on a fellowship while finishing her Bachelor's degree in Political Science at the University of California, Irvine.
Once she interned at the nation's capital she discovered that rather than helping shape legislation she was more passionate about reporting news. (She should have known this because every high school assessment test pointed towards journalism!)
In Washington Veronica gained her journalism experience through a Scripps Howard News-Service Fellowship at Hispanic Link. She later went on to work at the Washington Post as a news-aide and intern at Telemundo Network. Then in May 2010, she completed a Masters in Journalism at Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies.
She is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. While working for WECT News in Wilmington, NC she won an RTNDA award for spot news.
