Enrico de Trizio (born April 2, 1983, in Molfetta) is an Italian pianist and composer.
Enrico started to play the piano at the age of ten at the “S. D. Savio” middle school with Piero Rotolo. He graduated in classical piano in 2005 at the “Niccoló Piccinni” Conservatory (Bari, Italy) with Eva Praeyer and in Jazz Music with Davide Santorsola in 2007.
He continued his Jazz studies in Siena with Enrico Rava, Stefano Battaglia, Franco D’Andrea, Marco Tamburini, Claudio Corvini and Stefano Zenni.
In 2004 he founded his first electric trio featuring his original compositions: the Headquarters awarded with the Baronissi Jazz prize ’06 (emergent category) and ’07 (pro category).
In 2010 he graduated in Electronic Production and Design at the Berklee College of Music (Boston, USA) where he has been awarded with the Technics Endowed Scholarship ’09 and the BT Production Award ’10. Here he studied with Danilo Perez, Ray Santisi, Joe Lovano, Alain Mallet, Dr. Richard Boulanger, Neil Leonard and many others.
His performances include Italy, France (Vannes Jazz Festival ‘08, Île de Ré, Strasbourg) and USA: Boston, New York, Miami (Latin Billboard Music Awards ‘08) and Orlando (Florida).
He performed with Mike Applebaum (Zucchero, Giorgia) and the Bari Symphony Orchestra, Roberto Ottaviano, Dennis Montgomery III, Winston Maccow, Kenwood Denard (Jaco Pastorius, Miles Davis, Sting), Fred Wesley (James Brown), Joe Lovano, Karl Berger (Carla Bley, Don Cherry, Lee Konitz, John McLaughlin), Philip Bailey (Earth, Wind & Fire) and Bobby McFerrin.
Besides his Treeo and his solo performances, he’s currently playing with the French singer Violette De Bartillat, the hip-hop band RE-UP and the Global Sonification Network Ensemble directed by Neil Leonard.
