The mission of the Knight Center for International Media at the University of Miami is to integrate scholastic and creative energies to serve and transform the global journalism and communication profession. Located within the School of Communication, the center serves as an incubator for cross-disciplinary collaborations that allow communication professionals and journalists to interact with researchers, students, media makers, technologists, artists and scholars to develop new media models and methods for empowering the future leaders of the communication field.
The Knight Center focuses on the expanding realm of multimedia visual journalism and cross-cultural communication in the Americas and beyond. Through endowed Knight Chairs, a program of professional residencies and other projects, the Knight Center has built an international network of collaborators to address underrepresented issues of global significance.
